Good afternoon Lothrop Community!

I keep reminding myself  "April showers, bring May flowers" as we see cloudy skies and rain again this weekend.  Although a bummer, EVERYTHING and EVERYONE was shining at the Brandon Townhall Theater last Thursday night as the 3/4 Lothrop Players put on the musical production of "Jungle Book."  A year-long process of school and community coming together came to fruition and it was spectacular!  Many found their singing voices, courage and other talents that they did not even know existed!  If you did not get a chance to see it on the live feed or your PK-6 learner would like to see it again, Mrs. Tate is preparing a recording that we will get out to you soon!  While a collective team effort, I want to give a special shout out to Mrs. Bruce, our music teacher in preparation of our learners and Mrs. Kelly Connaughton for being our Stage Manager and collecting and creating the sets and costumes for the entire performance!

On another note, Dennis Mardin, program coordinator, at the Brandon Townhall Theater wanted me to be sure and let Lothrop Families know how deeply impressed he was regarding the talents of the 3/4 Players and the overall positive behavior of all kiddos on stage and in the audience.  It was a great "return to before the pandemic" event.  Ironically, the last event that we had before school shut down was the 3/4 production of Suessical, performed by our current 5/6 learners.

We just received word from the Pittsford zoning board that we can move forward with the creation of our outdoor classroom.  We will be looking for volunteers soon!
