Panther Press

Good afternoon Lothrop Community!

Phew!  Quite a morning for those making school closing decisions.  I watched as the temp went from 55 degrees-33 degrees in less than 30 minutes.
An unexpected day off before break is always tricky, as we always have loose ends to tie up.  Certainly, I am sure that the 3-6 kiddos were disappointed in missing Lifetime activities.

Today was supposed to be our kick off for Read Across America week that takes place when we return from break.  Mrs. Tate jumped in this morning and created a video that you will find in this week's Panther Press kicking us off.  A little flier announcing the activities is also included.

We will begin planning for Summer Institute after the break. (See info in the Panther Press below) All coordination will happen through Lothrop this year.  Please be on the lookout and sign-up as soon as possible, so that I can make decisions on staffing and teachers can make summer plans around the Institute.

Mrs. Parker and I are working on a time for families and staff who wish to pick-up antigen testing supplies over the break.  We intended to send them home today, so we will make another plan.

I did not get a chance to dismiss our learners today and send them off with my usual message, so please pass it along.  It is actually a good message for us all.

Read a little and do a little math each day AND play outside A LOT!

Best,
Deb
