School Board

The Pittsford School Board of Directors is responsible for the budget, policies and property of the Lothrop School. Board members are elected by the citizens of Pittsford.

Our goals are to ensure a safe, nurturing and productive learning environment for our town’s children, while operating the school in a fiscally responsible manner. We work closely with the Principal, Superintendent, and the Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union to achieve these goals.

An overview of many of the school’s goals, programs and policies – “The Lothrop Elementary School Handbook” – is distributed to parents at the beginning of each school year, and is also available through the school office.

We are proud of our students and staff, as well as the school’s social environment and physical campus. Some of our school property improvements are made possible through the Burditt Fund, an endowment established for the benefit of our school district.

The Board warns its meetings, which generally occur on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:00 pm in the school library. Our meetings are open to the public. Please join us, or give us a call – we welcome your ideas and comments.
