Fifth Graders traveled to Peru where they discovered the importance of weaving in the Inca Culture. They learned that fiber is taken from the alpaca to make clothing. It is sturdy, soft, warm---even when wet. Weavings were thought to be more valuable than gold. Students returned home via Lothrop's Art room where where mats were created under Mr. Houston's direction.
