Friday, February 6, 2015 Lothrop's competition of the 2015 National Geographic Bee was held.  Tiana G-V placed third. Gunnar T won the championship and  Jaden G placed second.  

For the 27th year, the National Geographic Society is holding the National Geographic Bee for students in the fourth through eight grades in thousands of schools across the United State and in the five U.S. territories, as well as in Department of Defense Dependents Schools around the world.

Gunnar T will advance to the next level of competition, a written examination to determine eligibility in Vermont's Station Competition held at Middlebury College Friday, March 27.  All school champions are eligible to win the national championship and its first prize, a $50,000 college scholarship, at the national championship May 11-13, 2015 in Washington, D.C.
